Hi! I'm Gordon Mackay, a web developer from the Highlands of Scotland. On this site you will find my photos, free CSS templates, free Adobe Fireworks graphics and some PHP code to use in your projects. Enjoy!
Sunset, or “The Golden Hour” is every landscape photographer’s ideal light. Managing to get motivated enough to extract yourself from the couch and walk to a nice location is the only hurdle you need to overcome if you want to take some fantastic photos.
The great thing about this time of day is that almost anywhere looks good as the sun goes down on it, but ideally having something that extends the colours emanating from the sky helps. A wet beach, a loch, glass or, in this case, a river all help to make a great sky that little bit more interesting.
The images below were taken at about 9:30 in the evening at the Wick Riverside after choking on clouds of hatching flies. All worthwhile though :)
