A couple of long exposures from the weekend

I’m really starting to like long exposure shots, and the 10 stop ND filter seems to have been a great investment.

Here are my two favourite photos from the weekend.

Dunbeath River

This shot was taken using the following settings:

  • Exposure: 68 seconds
  • Aperture: f/16.0
  • Focal Length: 21 mm
  • ISO Speed: 100

I used the B+W 10 stop ND filter and a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4 L USM lens.

Stack O’ Brough, Hempriggs

This shot was taken after a somewhat steep climb down the grassy slopes of the cliffs at Hempriggs, Caithness – my thighs are still recovering :)

I was using the following settings:

  • Exposure: 9 seconds
  • Aperture: f/11.0
  • Focal Length: 17 mm
  • ISO Speed: 100

I used the same B+W 10 stop ND filter and a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4 L USM lens.

All good fun :)
